Blackberry Desktop Software 7 has been re-launched after its less than successful first appearance in Feb, 2012. The frustrating “Preparing Sync Preview” software hang and other bugs meant RIM embarrassingly were forced to roll-back the update shortly after the official DM7 release on the BlackBerry website. Many of the users that installed DM7 successfully on their Windows PC also created BBB backups, which replaced the tradition IPD format. Unfortunately these users had issues restoring their data back onto BlackBerrys when they downgraded to DM 6.
We created a useful guide to help anyone that was faced with the strange new BBB backup format. It looks like RIM have seemly fixed these bugs some three months later and BlackBerry Desktop Software 7 for Windows is available for download 'again'.
You can still count on Blackberry Backup Extractor to extract your IPD or BBB backup data
BlackBerry Backup Extractor has proved to be a loyal software for its BlackBerry users that encountered issues in restoring their BBB backups, and the application is always kept up to data with the latest changes. The Latest version has many enhancements, but we added multi BlackBerry backup support back in March so the software could view all types of BlackBerry backups, whether they are old .BBB Mac files, original .IPD Windows backups or new .BBB v2 backups. So, if anything goes wrong with your BBB backup here is a guide on how to read BBB backup files with our BlackBerry Backup Extractor Software.
